Terms of service
This is a plain-language terms of service. It is also legally binding. If you don't agree with any of it, don't use logga.
Effective: 11 July 2026 · Last updated: 11 July 2026
1. Who you're agreeing with
logga is sold and operated by Papi Labs, based in the UK. Contact: hello@logga.ai.
In the rest of this document we call ourselves "we" or "logga", and call you "you".
2. What you're buying
logga is a Mac desktop application for recording, transcribing and summarising meetings entirely on your device.
When you buy a licence, you get:
- A perpetual licence to use logga on up to three (3) Macs you personally control.
- Free updates for the entire v1.x line, with no subscription.
- Reasonable email support at hello@logga.ai.
The version you have keeps working forever. There is no ongoing payment and no obligation to upgrade.
A Founding Member licence is identical to a standard licence; the price is just lower.
3. Free trial
You get seven (7) days of full-feature trial without entering a licence key or a card. The trial starts the first time you launch the app. After it ends, the app re-locks until you activate a licence.
4. What you can do with the app
You can:
- Use it for any purpose, personal or commercial, that does not violate the law where you are.
- Use it on Macs you own or have lawful access to.
- Record meetings you have a right to record under the laws of your jurisdiction. You, not logga, are responsible for getting any consent that local law requires. Some US states require two-party consent for audio recording; some workplaces have policies; some industries have additional rules. We don't, and can't, check these for you.
You cannot:
- Resell, sublicense or distribute the logga app or your licence key.
- Reverse-engineer the app for the purpose of building a competing product.
- Use logga to record other people without lawful consent (this is on you, not us).
- Use logga if you are under the legal age of majority in your jurisdiction.
5. Refunds
Within thirty (30) days of your purchase, you can email hello@logga.ai and request a refund for any reason. We will refund you in full, deactivate your licence, and that's the end of it.
"No questions asked" means exactly that. We will not:
- Ask why you want the refund.
- Make you fill out a form.
- Offer a "wait, try this troubleshooting first" delay.
- Charge a restocking fee or processing fee.
You will be refunded the full amount you paid, including any VAT or sales tax added at checkout, in the original currency, via the same payment method you used to buy. Refunds are processed by Lemon Squeezy on our behalf. To request one, email hello@logga.ai with the subject "Refund request" and the email address you used at checkout; you don't need to send your licence key. We aim to respond within 24 hours during UK business hours; weekends might be slower.
After a refund, your licence key is deactivated and the app returns to its trial-expired state on your next launch. Your recordings, transcripts and summaries on your Mac are not affected; they live in your Application Support folder and remain there until you delete them. We can't reach them, we can't delete them remotely, and we don't want to. If you want to come back later, you can buy a fresh licence at the current price.
A few edge cases where we'll reasonably decline:
- Refunds requested after 30 days from purchase. We can't process these via Lemon Squeezy after the window closes. If something genuinely went wrong on our end, email us anyway; exceptions exist.
- Refunds for licence keys you've publicly shared. If your key is on a torrent site, your account is in breach of these Terms and the refund is forfeit.
- Refunds when you've already had two refunds from us in the past 12 months. At that point we'd rather you didn't buy a third time.
After thirty days, refunds are otherwise not available. We can't claw back a digital download. We don't want to play games with this; the trial exists so you can decide before you pay, and the refund window gives you breathing room after it.
6. The privacy story (this is the actual contract, not marketing)
We commit that:
- logga does not upload your audio, transcripts, summaries or any other content you create with the app to any server we control.
- logga's outbound network calls are limited to: (a) licence activation, validation (once per launch) and deactivation requests to
api.lemonsqueezy.com, carrying only your licence key and a hashed machine identifier, never your content; (b) one-time model downloads on first launch, Whisper and the Phi-3.5 summary model fromhuggingface.co, the speaker-identification engine fromgithub.com/dsmih/logga-releases, and small fallback and voice-activity models from GitHub (the k2-fsa and snakers4 repositories), all verified against SHA-256 hashes pinned in the app; and (c) off by default and only if you add your own API key, summary requests containing transcript excerpts (never audio) to OpenAI or Anthropic; chat always runs locally. The app's auto-updater is disabled in this build and makes no update checks. All of these are documented in the app's Settings → About, under "Every network call logga makes". - logga does not collect telemetry, analytics, crash reports or any other "anonymised usage data".
- If we ever add a feature that sends data anywhere, it will be (i) opt-in, (ii) clearly explained, and (iii) documented in this terms of service before it goes live.
If we breach any of these commitments without first updating this document and giving you notice, you are entitled to a full refund regardless of when you bought.
For details on the data we do touch (your licence key plus a machine fingerprint), see the privacy policy.
7. Disclaimers (the bit lawyers make us write)
logga is provided "as is". AI transcription and diarisation are statistical processes; they make mistakes. AI summaries can omit or misstate things from the original audio. You are responsible for verifying anything important before you act on it.
We make no warranty that the app will be:
- Uninterrupted or error-free
- Compatible with future versions of macOS
- Suitable for any specific use, including legally regulated industries
If your use case is high-stakes (court reporting, medical records, compliance recordkeeping), please verify logga meets your professional requirements before relying on it. We are not a court reporter, not a transcription service and not a compliance vendor.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability to you for any claim arising from your use of logga is limited to the amount you paid for your licence. We are not liable for:
- Lost business, lost data, lost profits or any consequential damages.
- Anything caused by other software interacting with logga.
- Anything caused by your operating system, hardware or third-party services.
If you live in a jurisdiction that does not allow this limitation, it applies to the maximum extent that jurisdiction allows.
9. Termination
You can stop using logga at any time. If you do, our obligations to you end (other than honouring an in-window refund, if applicable).
We can terminate your licence if you materially breach these Terms, for example by sharing your licence key publicly, or by using the app to commit crimes against other people. We will tell you why before doing so, in writing.
10. Changes to these Terms
We can update these Terms. If we do, we will:
- Update the "Last updated" date at the top of the document.
- Notify existing licence-holders by email of any material change.
- Make the previous version of the document available on request.
Continued use of logga after a material change indicates your acceptance of the updated Terms. If you don't accept them, you can request a refund within thirty days of the change announcement, even if more than thirty days have passed since your original purchase.
11. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales. This does not affect any non-waivable rights you have under your local consumer-protection law.
12. Contact
For anything: billing, refunds, licensing, complaints, compliments. Email hello@logga.ai. For legal matters specifically, also CC legal@logga.ai (currently the same inbox).
logga is built in the UK by a solo founder. We aim to be honest with you in writing, even when the writing is legal boilerplate. If something in this document seems unreasonable, please email us; we'd rather fix it than argue.
