You hold the most sensitive conversations there are, and then you write them up at 9pm. Logga records, transcribes and summarises sessions entirely on your Mac. No cloud transcript service, no third party listening in, no account. The recording never leaves the machine it was made on.
Why on-device matters in a therapy room
Every cloud transcription service is, by definition, another organisation handling your clients' words. Even the diligent ones become an entry in your privacy notice, a contract to review and a question your clients are entitled to ask about.
Logga takes a different route: the audio is captured, transcribed and summarised by models running on your own Mac. For the recording, transcript and summary themselves, there is no cloud processor to name in your privacy notice, because there isn't one. The files sit on your disk, under your control, like the paper notes in your locked cabinet.
Consent still comes first
Let's say this plainly: recording a session requires your client's informed consent, every time, whatever tool you use. Logga removes the "who else hears this?" part of that conversation, not the conversation itself. Many practitioners find consent easier to ask for when the honest answer to "where does the recording go?" is "nowhere, it stays on this computer".
Honest about scope
Logga is not a medical device, and we don't make compliance claims on your behalf. GDPR, HIPAA and professional-body guidance (BACP, UKCP and others) are your responsibility as the practitioner. What we can state as fact is where your data lives: on your Mac, and nowhere else.
Works offline, right in the room
After the one-time model download on first run, logga works fully offline. Turn the Wi-Fi off before a session if you like; recording, live transcription, speaker identification and summaries all run on-device. Your licence is checked when you're online, with a 7-day grace window when you're not.
Supervision notes, on your terms
Nothing is shared unless you actively share it. When you want to take material to supervision, export the transcript or summary as Markdown with one click (other formats are planned) and pass it on through whatever channel you already trust. The default state is always: everything stays on your machine.
Between sessions, not on top of them
- Before: hit record from the menu bar or a global hotkey. Nothing on screen to interrupt rapport.
- During: logga runs quietly while you stay present with your client, not with a notepad.
- After: a transcript with speakers identified and a summary, ready before your next client arrives. Keep what helps, delete what doesn't.
- Later: search every session you've kept, or ask a transcript a question, answered locally on your Mac.
Deleting means deleting
Recordings, transcripts and summaries are files on your computer. Delete them and they're gone; we never held a copy, so there is nothing for us to retain, hand over or be subpoenaed for. For higher assurance, keep FileVault on, as most Macs already do.
